Ham, Apple & Cheddar Sliders

Simple but flavourful, these toasted easy cheesy sliders boast textural variety and balanced savoury ingredients for the perfect light lunch of dinner that’s sure to please.

  • 3 tbsp (45 mL) whole-grain mustard
  • 1 tbsp (15 mL) liquid honey
  • 4 tsp (20 mL) finely chopped fresh chives
  • 12 slider buns, split
  • 12 slices deli ham
  • 1 apple, thinly sliced
  • 6 Cracker Barrel Thick Cut Slices – Marble, halved and folded
  • 2 jarred roasted red peppers, drained well and thinly sliced
  • 2 cups (500 mL) arugula


  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In small bowl, stir together mustard, honey and chives. Spread evenly over cut sides of each slider bun.
  3. Arrange buns with mustard mixture facing up on large baking sheet. Top bottoms of buns with ham, apple and cheese.
  4. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until cheese has melted and buns are toasted. Top with roasted red peppers and arugula. Serve sliders warm.


Honeycrisp and Granny Smith apples work well in this recipe.

Toss apple slices with lemon juice to prevent them browning if desired.
